When we talk about health or routine medical checkup, dental health isn’t given much thought. This practice gives rise to dental diseases. Dental Health care is important in diabetes and every related disease since it helps in preventing oral infections, gum diseases, and pyorrhea.
Watch this dental health education video by Zyla with Dr Shashi Bhushan Gupta to understand dental health tips, dental health care, dental health education, oral health, oral health and dental management, oral health awareness, and preventive dental health care.
Preventive dental health care requires you to follow basic dental health which we have been doing since ancient times, that is brushing your teeth. Interestingly, 85% of us have been doing it wrong, in an incorrect manner.
Brushing is the best thing to prevent dental diseases or oral diseases if this action is performed in a correct manner.
The mistake we do while brushing is to do it in a horizontal manner which is completely wrong.
You can do it in a modified Bass technique. It involves you going up & down starting from your gums and cleaning the teeth as well as your gums. Ensure that you are giving vibratory strokes to your gums.
Use a water floss or normal floss, whichever is better for you or your dentist prescribes you. This is an important step for dental health and one of the important dental health tips which most of us don’t give a thought to. You can use a regular floss, floss with a pick, or a new technique known as water floss.
Remember to regularly brush your teeth twice a day in a correct manner. Once before breakfast and once at night before sleeping.
You know what is necessary for dental health? Visiting your dentist once in 6-8 months for a regular checkup.
Keep brushing, take care of your dental health and prevent dental diseases!
