Here are some of the biggest mistakes I’ve seen in the dental marketing space, especially when it comes to Facebook advertising for dentists and dental practices!

I have literally been through thousands of dental websites and checked out what they are doing in terms of their digital marketing and I can honestly say that there are less than 30 dental practices in the UK that have a sound predictable online marketing system set in place that will generate them leads on DEMAND when they need to.

As for the rest of them, they are either relying on referrals to grow their business and as you can imagine, this isn’t really a strategy, it’s more of waiting, hoping & praying game… You simply do not control when a referral comes in, you cannot turn on the referrals or turn them off. Or they just simply disregard facebook advertising and social media marketing as some sort of myth and claim that it doesn’t work because one of their un-trained staff members attempted to run ONE facebook ad!

Don’t get me wrong there are, of course, some dental practices that are big enough now that they probably don’t need to spend a dime on digital marketing as they cannot physically handle any more patients but these are few! It’s going to be interesting to see where those practices will be in 3-4 years now that social media is taking over!
