Dental Practice Term Loans – Call 904-551-6090: An overview of obligations for registered dental practitioners

This video explains the obligations of registered dental practitioners in Australia. As part of World Oral Health Day on 20 March 2017 dentists are encouraged to support the special day of significance by watching this new video produced by the Dental Board of Australia (the Board).

The video aims to help over 20,000 dental practitioners registered in Australia to understand how they can help protect the public by meeting their obligations under the National Law.

As the regulator of dental practitioners’ the Board’s role is to keep the public safe by ensuring only suitable, qualified and competent dental practitioners are registered who provide quality dental care; and they are held to account when they do not.

Dental Practice Term Loans – Call 904-551-6090: Dental Care in America: Midlevel Providers in Action | Pew

Tens of millions Americans lack access to regular dental care. To address barriers to care, the dental team has been expanded to include different types of providers in Minnesota, Alaska, and California. The concept is similar to using physician assistants and other practitioners in the medical field. These mid-level dental providers perform preventive and routine restorative care. In Alaska and Minnesota, for instance, dental therapists can fill cavities. In California, dental hygienists with an advanced license can do temporary fillings. These providers work in a variety of settings, including private dental offices, community and tribal health clinics, schools and nursing homes. All work under the supervision of a dentist.

Dental Practice Term Loans – Call 904-551-6090: Meet a Modern Practitioner: The Dentist

The Old Operating Theatre Museum & Herb Garret Presents: Meet A Modern Practitioner.

The aim of this project is to develop a series of short films for younger people. These films would speak to modern-day medical practitioners, comparing their work to that which took place in the Old Operating Theatre of the Old St Thomas’ Hospital. Our hope is to encourage young people to consider a career related to medicine, to showcase the range of roles involved in medicine today, and to highlight how medicine has changed over the last two hundred years.

In this second film, we will meet Dr Flora Smyth Zahra who is a restorative dentist with a background in dentistry. She is the Clinical Senior Lecturer Interdisciplinarity & Innovation Dental Education and Clinical Humanities Lead at King’s College London, working to embed arts and humanities across dentistry training.

This work was paid for with a Lottery Heritage Fund.

Dental Practice Term Loans – Call 904-551-6090: Infection control tips for dental patients

This video is to help dental patients make sure they are getting safe care from their dental practitioners.

Developed by the Dental Board of Australia, it aims to help patients;

• to help patients know what infection prevention and control protocols to expect when visiting their dental practitioner

• to encourage patients to ask their treating dental practitioner questions about infection prevention and control and how their treating dental practitioner can ensure that they meet their infection control obligations, and

• to inform patients on what to do if they have a concern about their dental practitioner’s infection control practices.

The Board expects dental practitioners to practise in a way that maintains and enhances public health and safety by ensuring that the risk of the spread of infection is prevented or minimised. The Board considers investing in information for patients a powerful additional check on the infection control standards of dental practitioners in Australia.

Dental Practice Term Loans – Call 904-551-6090: Dental Specialties vs. General Dentistry

A dental specialty can be a great career, and many specialties offer advantages over general dentistry, especially when it comes to income.

There are 12 specialties now recognized by the ADA as of July, 2020. Other countries might have slightly different definitions of a “specialty”, but endodontics, orthodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, prosthodontics and pediatric dentistry are pretty universal.

General dentistry can certainly be a great career, but if you have the class rank and the board scores to specialize, and can take the couple of extra years that it takes for a residency, it can definitely pay off.
